My education, career, and hobbies have pushed me to read mountains of scientific literature. Unfortunately I keep coming to the same conclusion:
The way we teach, train, and learn is largely inefficient and ineffective.
I’m exploring this idea through grappling, wellness, fitness, and health in general. I’m starting to believe that idea can be generalized through most of life though.
That’s why I created this website.
I’ve been obsessed with physical culture since high school. My obsession pushed me to try everything to perform better and explore myself:
I ate paleo, low fat, Mediterranean, and other diets
I spent hours on Youtube learning new martial arts techniques
I tried kettlebells, Olympic Lifting, gymnastics, and any program promising performance
After all of my training and searching I’ve decided to live and work by these three maxims:
Less is more
(almost) Everything is good for you to a point - the opposite is true as well
Combat sports, fitness, and health in general are plagued with bad science and low tech solutions making for massive inefficiencies and creating ineffective end users
I will help you learn, train, and teach better so you can be the best version of yourself.
I’m focused on grappling and martial arts, what are you focused on?
⚖️ Good | Bad | Well
Good | Bad | Well is a simple idea - (almost) everything is good for you. To a point.
Whatever you’re doing will have diminishing returns eventually. The longer you’re investing in those habits and processes with diminishing returns, the less well you are. Overtime this causes bad performance.
Fortunately the inverse is also true.
We can exploit this principle to live a balanced life and perform better while avoiding burn out.
